Exploring the benefits of curcumin for brain health and happiness

Previously on this blog, we discussed the prevalence of depression across the United States and the steps medical researchers are taking to find alternative sources of treatment. Currently, therapy and antidepressants are the most common forms of intervention for diagnosed depression. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as many as 10 percent of adults have reported symptoms of this psychological condition.

In our coverage of this research, we cited a recent study indicating that moderate exercise may both help manage the severity and potentially even prevent the development of depression. Earlier this month, Fox News also published a piece on the possible application of curcumin as a natural antidepressant.

"While antidepressants can work wonders, they can also cause serious side effects, such as insomnia, nausea, fatigue and memory loss. Due to these complications, researchers at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas are studying a more natural alternative to treat depression," the source states.

The Baylor University study reportedly indicated that taking curcumin supplements could rival the positive effects demonstrated by current antidepressants. Of course, this by no means should be seen as encouragement to forgo prescribed medications in favor of nutritional supplements. Rather, it indicates that we still have so much to learn about the the scope of natural compounds and how our daily choices can influence brain health

Clinical indicators of the possible benefits of curcumin for the mind and body seem to increase by the day. Click here to read more information about Nutrivene Longvida Curcumin.
