Boy With Down Syndrome Scores Winning Touchdown [Video]

Thirteen-year-old Willi Wilson was Madison Youth Football’s biggest fan. For four years, the Connecticut youth attended every game to support his favorite team, the Tigers. But during their final home game on Oct. 16 against Southington, Wilson, who has Down syndrome, got a chance to show his support on the field.

The Tigers named Wilson honorary team captain for the day and suited him up for the final play of the game, according to the New Haven Register. With the help of his team, and wearing the number 34, he then scored the game’s final touchdown.

Wilson, an eighth grader at Walter C. Polson Upper Middle School, may not don a helmet in every game, but he definitely plans to keep cheering his team on.
