| Cancer Cells and Resveratrol |
Researchers in the U.S. have discovered an antioxidant found in red wine and grape skins destroyed pancreatic cancer cells. Published in "Advances in Experimental Medicine & Biology", the study found that the antioxidant resveratrol crippled the energy core of the cancer cell at the mitochondrial level. According to lead author Dr. Paul Okuneff, "resveratrol seems to have a therapeutic gain by making tumor cells more sensitive to radiation and making normal tissues less sensitive."
