Hi:
I just started my 9-wk-old on the daily powdered formula a few days ago.
It is very difficult to get him to swallow it. I'm mixing the day's dose with about 20 cc of formula and giving it to him with a medicine dropper. It's nasty (I tasted it myself!) and it just runs out of his mouth and makes a mess.
I tried diluting by mixing it with 40 cc, hoping that it would taste better, but then of course I have to get him to swallow twice as much so this doesn't work any better.
At 9 weeks, I don't think there is anything else I can mix it with to mask the taste.
Does anyone have any tips/ideas for feeding this stuff to him?
I was also having this problem with my (now) 5 month old daughter.
But then I found this product (http://www.onestepahead.com/product/85200/291757/117.html) and my daughter gets every drop of 'that' golden liquid with no spillage and delivered straight to the back of her mouth.
Hope this helps you.
Ursula
My daughter is 11 years old and she has just started taking nutrients as well. I agree, the taste is horrible, it would be nice if there were chewables. I dont know if this will help but so far I have found that cinnamon, which I put in her applesauce, and flavored yogurt mask the taste pretty well. I can only get away with 2 scoops of powder in a small cup, but at least its a start.
Good luck to you!
